Two Galaxy midfielders expected to be sidelined Wednesday
Monday August 18, 2003
CARSON, Calif. (AP) Los Angeles Galaxy midfielders Sasha
Victorine and Mauricio Cienfuegos are both expected to miss
Wednesday night's game at the Chicago Fire.
Neither player flew to Chicago with the team Monday, a team
spokesman said.
Victorine sprained his right hip during the first half of
Saturday night's 1-1 overtime tie with the MetroStars and was
replaced at the start of the second half. He underwent an MRI exam
Monday, the spokesman said.
Cienfuegos has flu-like symptoms. He played the final 36 minutes
Saturday.
Defender-midfielder Tyrone Marshall and defender Ryan Suarez are
both listed as doubtful.
Marshall, who replaced Victorine at halftime and played the
final 55 minutes, has a strained groin. Suarez has missed the past
two games because of a strained right hamstring.
