Kerry Kittles, Nets, scored a season-high 35 points, leading
New Jersey to a 111-85 victory over Philadelphia.
Karl Malone, Jazz, scored 20 of his 31 points in the second
half to lead Utah past Memphis 105-84.
Mehmet Okur, Pistons, had the first double-double of his
career with 19 points and 11 rebounds in Detroit's 89-80 win over
the Los Angeles Clippers.

Boston's 114-74 win over Seattle on Wednesday night was its
biggest since a 132-91 win over San Antonio on March 3, 1993. It
tied for Seattle's fourth-most lopsided loss and was only seven
fewer than the biggest margin, 47 points against Boston on Nov. 20,
1968.

After beating Philadelphia 111-85 Wednesday night, New Jersey
has won six of seven after losing its first three games on a West
Coast trip. The Nets head into the All-Star break tied with Indiana
for the best record in the Eastern Conference at 34-15.

^SEASON ON THE BRINK=
Golden State's 103-99 loss Wednesday night to San Antonio
delayed a notable victory for the Warriors. Golden State has 21
wins and was looking to surpass its victory total from last season.
The franchise has not won more than 21 games in a season since
finishing 30-52 in 1995-96.

Utah avoided being the first team to lose to Memphis in two
weeks by outscoring the Grizzlies 63-35 in the second half of its
105-84 win Wednesday night.

^ON ALL CYLINDERS=
Detroit enters the All-Star break on a four-game winning streak
after beating the Los Angeles Clippers 89-80 Wednesday night.
Detroit won the last three by an average of 27.7 points.

^KINGS OF PAIN=
Sacramento's 108-84 loss to New Orleans on Wednesday night was
the Kings' fifth loss in seven games. Sacramento was playing its
third game in four days, including a dramatic victory in Dallas a
night earlier.

``It was an absolute officiating tragedy. I thought I was at the
comedy store watching some kind of comedian out there laughing with
the Blazers, and talking to them, and smiling with them. It was so
unprofessional.'' Coach Pat Riley after Miami's 101-87 loss to
Portland on Wednesday night. Earlier this season, Riley publicly
derided NBA officiating and was fined $50,000.
