LOS ANGELES (AP) Corey Maggette, who missed 14 games after
undergoing knee surgery last month, has been activated by the Los
Angeles Clippers and will be in uniform Friday night when they face
the Phoenix Suns.
Maggette averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.1 assists in
the season's first 14 games. Maggette continued to play after an
MRI taken on Nov. 4 revealed a slight cartilage tear, but underwent
an arthroscopic procedure 3{ weeks later to repair it.
To make room Thursday, the Clippers placed guard Eric Piatkowski
on the injured list. Piatkowski has missed six games because of a
lower abdominal strain and must sit out an additional five.
Forward Lamar Odom, who hasn't played since last January because
of wrist and ankle injuries, is expected to return Saturday night
against Golden State at Staples Center.
