Athletics 12, River Cats 1

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Miguel Tejada hit a grand slam Sunday to lead the Oakland Athletics to a 12-1 victory over the Sacramento River Cats, their Triple-A affiliate.

Jermaine Dye, Ramon Hernandez and Scott Hatteberg also homered for Oakland. Ted Lilly allowed just one hit in five innings, striking out eight and walking four.

A's relievers Keith Foulke, Ricardo Rincon, Jeremy Fikac and Justin Lehr combined to allow three hits and one run the rest of the way.

Tejada's slam came in the second inning. Hernandez hit a two-run shot in the third and Dye chased starter John Halama with a three-run drive in the fourth.

Halama allowed 11 runs, seven earned, on 11 hits in 3 1-3 innings. He walked one and struck out three.

Oakland hit 47 home runs in spring training.
