WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) Relief pitcher Courtney Duncan struck out Graham Koonce with two runners on base in the bottom of the ninth inning to seal the Portland Beaver's 6-5 victory over the Sacramento River Cats in Pacific Coast League action Sunday.

The Beavers (2-2) scored three times in the first inning and never trailed in beating the River Cats (2-2) for the second straight day by the same score.

Kory De Haan had two of Portland's eight hits and Alex Pelaez had two RBIs.

Jason Grabowski had two hits for Sacramento, including a single to pull his club to within 6-5 in the ninth. Dave McCarty, the designated hitter, followed with a walk before Koonce struck out.
